Koffee with Karan: Season 5, Episode 4 Review

Yes, this time you see what you never saw before, Ranbir Kapoor and Ranveer Singh together on a set. The set might not be that of a movie, but it is the precious couch of Karan. Yes, only Karan could bring them together.

Yes the rumors were all very true. They are the next guests of the very much popular and much loved TV Show, Koffee with Karan. KWK had been famous among the B-celebs for unveiling the silver wrapped truths. Yes, this time you see what you never saw before, Ranbir Kapoor and Ranveer Singh together on a set. The set might not be that of a movie, but it is the precious couch of Karan. Yes, only Karan could bring them together.

Not to Miss: Ranbir and Ranveer were in their most candid forms, and Karan as always, knows how spill the beans. Ranveer is known for his easy going and buoyant nature, but it was Ranbir who matched up the smooth sailing like never before. Yes, they talked about almost everything, from their past and present girlfriends to being competitive on the work front. They, very boldly accepted it with ease that they are not best friends, and they are together in the show because Karan called them. From referring the history with Deepika Padukone as the elephant in the room to digging at each other frequently, it was an electric show to match up.

Though Cynics suggests the show is well planned and scripted, it is very hard as an audience to accredit it, as the jokes, the instant and reflective replies and their conscientious gestures were all natural and genuine. And to conclude that they are really very good as actors, in case the show is really a scripted one. There is no animosity between the two, their camaraderie is real. They are very much cordial and quite friendly with each other. But they have the right amount of antagonism; there are constant hints at each other about an obvious undercurrent. They were definitely all praises for each other, but they do not leave a single chance of taking a dig. One such instance was when KJo asked Ranbir to place a question for Ranveer, to which Ranbir, without a second thought, smoothly replied “Do you really like Ranbir Kapoor?” And not to let it go missed, where Ranveer claimed to be not at all competitive and having his focus only on himself, his true competitive nature flowed out when he lost the best kisser title to Ranbir.

There were very front and clear jokes; from Ranbir’s statement to being single as “boring, sad and lonely”, to Ranveer admitting that he would never be ruthless to SLB when asked about his launching a shoe on KJo.The show was truly an electric one; the two young versatile actors, and obviously the very much witty Karan Johar, made it one of the best shows of all the seasons. From Ranveer’s reply to SRK’s dig at him as saving the production team from doing a VFX on his red chilly to Ranbir accurately copying Salman’s dance steps, the Rans- Ranbir and Ranveer truly “saved the show”.
