Have you seen the last scene of 3 idiots? Do you want to know the place where Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor were snogging in the last scene of the movie? Those who were amazed by the background that performed as a catalyst in the scene for Kareena Kapoor during  the confession of her love. I must tell you that it is situated in Ladakh. It is a Pangong Tso lake which is one of the largest brackish lakes in Asia. It is situated at the height of 4250 meters in Ladakh across the borders of two countries India and China. The crystal clear blue lake covers an area of 100 kilometers. It is among one of the charismatic lakes in eastern Ladakh region. Another name of this lake is Hollow Lake and is a clear symbol of nature craftsmanship. When the sunlight plays with the brackish water then different effects of lights are produced. One-third of the lake is present in India and the rest two-third lies in Tibet, China. This lake is has large chunks of streams which are located on the Tibetan part. Pangong Lake is located around five hours drive from Leh in Ladakh, Jammu & Kashmir.

This place falls under the control of army and requires pass from Deputy Commissioner of Leh. During the winter season, the lake and the nearby places are engulfed by freezing temperature. The surface of the lake becomes so solid during winters that one can walk over it. On this frozen surface of the lake, a gala festival of ice sketching is organised. From several parts of the world, large number of ice skaters and skiers come here. During this festival, the tourists get to see the local culture of the native people.

While travelling towards the lake, the route passes through beautiful Ladakh countryside over the third highest motor able mountain in the world that is Chang La. Visitors feel welcomed by the traces of snow along the road. The mountains in the background appear as a painting of colors of green, violet and brown. There is a mountaineering school which provides degree in the rock climbing. The best time to travel to this place is between June and September.
