The French toast or at least the Indian version of the French toast isn't remotely French in origin and most French men and women have probably never tasted this wonderful concoction. The advantage of French toast is that it can be made really fast and is super delicious besides being very easy to prepare. You need eggs (1 egg per person), milk (optional), bread, salt, garam masala powder (optional), ginger pieces(optional), salt and tiny pieces of carrot and capsicum. Simply whisk together all the above ingredients (apart from bread) in a large mixing bowl and then dip the bread fully in the mixture before frying it in a nonstick pan. Serve piping hot with tomato ketchup.
Poha or flattened rice is an extremely healthy breakfast staple because of its high fiber content. You can try buying red poha as its organic and healthier than the white variety. Soak the poha in water for two minutes and drain. Cut up onion, capsicum, tomatoes, carrots, beans and basically whatever veggies you want to consume. Temper white oil with curry leaves, mustard seeds and dry red chilly. When the spices start spluttering, add the veggies (onion first) and then the rest and sauté for 3 to 4 minutes. Add poha, salt, turmeric, a pinch of sugar and mix well. Sprinkle freshly squeezed lemon juice on top and serve hot.
Oats is one of the healthiest breakfast options around and it is incredibly easy to prepare. Ditch those store brought masala oats recipe (loaded with preservatives) and prepare your own recipe. Soak oats in water for 4 minutes and cut up desired veggies in small cubes. Sauté veggies and add softened oats to it. Add jeera powder, salt and turmeric and mix well. Sprinkle raw carrot and onion pieces on top along with tomato sauce and serve hot.
If you are fond of fruits, then this simple breakfast recipe will make you fall in love with its awesome fruity taste. All you need is muesli, whipped cream or flavored yoghurt, cut fruits including strawberries and some chocolate or fruity sauce (optional). Put in the muesli and then the cream/yoghurt and then the fruits in a layered manner in a large bowl or glass. Sprinkle chocolate or fruity compote on top and serve chilled.
You cannot go wrong with the classic chicken sandwich and its terrible easy to prepare too. All you need is shredded chicken, mayonnaise, veggies (finely shredded carrots, onions and capsicum), eggs (optional) and some cheese. Take slices of sandwich bread and layer them with margarine or butter. Mix the shredded chicken with mayonnaise and the veggies and add in some salt and pepper. Layer this mixture between two pieces of the bread and top with sliced boiled egg slices. Your delicious chicken sandwich is now ready to be consumed!
