On the heels of Toyota Innova, the most successful product of this Japanese automaker, comes the Toyota Innova Crysta this year. After a decade of ruling the MPV segment, Innova, Toyota's flagship model is receiving a facelift which includes interior changes, exterior tweaks and mechanical upgrades. The dimensions have also been worked upon and while the wheelbase hasn't changed, the interiors will be equipped with better features. The brand new Toyota Innova Crysta is all set to be launched in India this may after its debut at the Delhi Auto Expo earlier this year.
Toyota Innova Crysta, soon to hit the roads, will be in the same class of Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Renault Lodgy and Honda Mobilio. Expected to be priced at Rs. 13 lakhs for the base model and Rs. 18 Lakhs for the top one, the new Toyota Innova promises an improved fuel efficiency of 14 kmpl on highways and 10kmpl on city roads. The Innova Crysta is based on the International Multi-purpose Vehicle and is a lot lighter, robust and safer than the outgoing model. The vehicle's dimensions have changed and so have few of the cosmetic designs on it. The front profile now has a hexagonal grille with chrome slats and the head lamp has a swept-back design with LED projector units. There are new fog lights and the bumper has been changed. The rear profile of Innova Crysta has boomerang shaped tail light clusters and a modified bumper. the 17-inch alloy wheels, narrow C-pillar, different wheel arches and chrome details around the window frame spruces up the side profile.
The interior of Innova Crysta is sheer joy to look at. The dashboard is entirely new with a refreshing instrument cluster. The cabin will probably have a two-tone colour theme. It is rumored that this new edition will have a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with AUX-in, USB port and Bluetooth connectivity along with voice command support. The top spec model might also have leather seats with wood-finish panels and other finishing touches.
Toyota Innova Crysta will have both petrol and diesel engine choices. The diesel engine will be a 2.4 GD series diesel power plant with an expected power of 147.6 Bhp and torque output of 360 Nm while the 2.0 litre petrol engine will produce 130 Bhp power and 181 NM of torque. For transmission, there might be the options of a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic. After Ertiga, Innova Crysta will be the second MPV in this segment to offer an automatic gearbox.
